Fundraising Letter for a 501(c)(3) to Help Veterans

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

We are raising funds through our Indiegogo campaign to help homeless vets get back to work. We need your contributions today!

Many of our homeless vets share this story. Put yourself in their place . . .

You have returned from active duty and have been honorably discharged from the military. The thought of re-starting your civilian life has long been a dream, and the time has finally arrived. But for one reason or another, things don’t go the way you had hoped. Your job is cut. You valiantly struggle, but eventually you lose your way. It’s just too much to go through alone. You, and in some cases, your family, become homeless. You are down but not entirely out–there’s still a spark left to your fighting spirit.

Through hard work and determination, you now find yourself safe in a long-term shelter for homeless veterans. (Maybe you even had to battle addiction to get here.) The next big step is returning to the workforce and re-gaining your self-esteem and independence. Finally, you have been offered the perfect steady job. You just need to be able to get back and forth to work. That’s when you realize, you have no car and the bus doesn’t go there. The end.

But wait . . . none of us want our veterans’ stories to end this way.

That is why we are starting XXXXXXX.  We have learned that this tale is indeed familiar to veterans’ shelter residents. And we need you to change this story’s ending.  Your contributions will help us start XXXXXXX. Its mission is: To provide free and reliable transportation to eligible veterans’ shelter residents so they can hold a job.

The goal of our 3-week crowdfunding campaign at Indiegogo is to provide funding to: (1) get XXXXXXX started and set up as a 501(c)(3) organization, and (2) begin to get our broad marketing campaign off the ground.

Please help us get started right now by visiting our campaign site and making a contribution. While there you can also (1) get detailed information, and (2) watch an informative video including supporting words by a veterans’ homeless shelter manager.  (Link removed.)

We appreciate any financial help you can give. Thanks so much for your support.

And, please forward this to your friends.
